Laboratories

SNC (Nursing College) is dedicated to providing a comprehensive training environment for B.Sc. Nursing students to develop both their professional and technical skills before entering clinical practice. The college is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories furnished with dummies, mannequins, specimens, models, charts, posters, instruments, advanced equipment, and other necessary resources to enable students to practice nursing procedures with efficiency. Students are offered individual hands-on experience in various practical procedures, including in the Nutrition Laboratory.

SNC has six well-equipped laboratories to support nursing education:

  1. Nursing Foundation Lab
  2. Community Health Nursing & Nutrition Laboratory
  3. Advanced Nursing Skill Laboratory
  4. Computer Laboratory
  5. OBG & Paediatric Laboratory
  6. Pre-Clinical Sciences Laboratory

Clinical Facilities

B.Sc. Nursing students at SNC are assigned clinical postings for 43 hours per week in our 100-bedded hospital, which is equipped with all major departments, including Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and more. This hands-on training allows students to gain practical experience and apply their theoretical knowledge in real-world healthcare settings.

Community Health Nursing/ Field Practice Area

B.Sc. Nursing students at SNC gain valuable community health nursing experience through fieldwork in both urban and rural areas. The institute is affiliated with a Primary Health Centre (PHC) and a Community Health Centre (CHC), providing students with exposure to diverse healthcare settings and enabling them to develop their skills in delivering community-based care.

The B.Sc. Nursing program at SNC is rigorous and comprehensive, making it essential to complement the curriculum with additional activities beyond lectures, clinical duties, and laboratory work. Activities such as seminars, workshops, field visits, and guest lectures are regularly organized to enhance students’ knowledge, provide fresh perspectives, foster innovative thinking, improve skills, and help them build a professional network for their future careers.
