Clinical Cases

Complicated Root Canals

Beyond the simple perception is often the internal anatomy and complex root system. Morphology of canal, dental pulp may take paradoxical shapes and configurations. As endodontist we are aware of all nooks and crannies of complex root canals and if they are in a properly delineated and precise manner, higher success rate is achieved.

Esthetics

“Smile is a curve that sets everything straight”. It plays a major role in how you perceive yourself as well as in impression you make. Esthetic dentistry requires minimally invasive treatment with restorations that mimic the surrounding dentition. It includes composite build ups of broken anterior teeth, diastema closure, removal of stains with the help of bleaching, microabrasion, veneering and correction of smile design by smile designing procedure. It creates a positive effect on patient’s self esteem and quality of life.

TRAUMA

The objective of conservative dentistry and Endodontics is the perpetual preservation of what remains, the meticulous restoration of what is missing. The rationale in selecting the treatment plan for a badly broken tooth is to restore satisfactorily the form and esthetics while maintaining the physiological function of tooth. This is successfully managed with Post and Core. The primary function of the Post is to retain the core in a tooth that has lost its coronal structure extensively.

Minor Surgical Procedures

Non-surgical endodontic treatment is a predictable and reliable treatment with high success rate. Nevertheless, there are some cases in which the treatment has followed the highest technical Standards and yet they are unsuccessful. In such Situations, endodontic surgeries are performed. Various surgical approaches used are curettage with apical root planning, apicoectomy, apicoectomy with retrograde obturation and endodontic surgery with simultaneous root canal filling. Hemisection can also be performed when there is furcation involvement.

Carious Lesions

Dental caries can jeopardize our smile and spoil our oral health. It is a very frequent bacterial disease affecting most of the population. There can be different treatment modalities to restore such carious lesions like silver amalgam restoration, glass-ionomer cement, composite resins, pin-retained amalgam and composites along with cast restorations like inlays, onlays and crowns. It helps in maintaining the integrity, form, function and esthetics of the tooth.
