Eligibility Criteria

A student seeking admission to BDS course must have passed the qualifying examination (of a recognized board / university) i.e. 10+2 (or equivalent) examination in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology with at least 50% marks in PCB (40% in case of S.C. / S.T.) with English as compulsory subject and must attain the age of 17 years on 31st of December, of the year of admission.

Category: Indian Nationals, NRI/ OCI/ PIO or Foreign nationals. Admissions will be done on the basis of the valid rank obtained in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2019.

Note :

Candidate with foreign qualifications will have to obtain the ‘Equivalence Certificate’ from Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi who will equate their qualifications as equivalent to the 10+2 of India.  This certificate will have to be submitted at the time of admissions.  Students who are qualified with CBSE or ISCE or any other Indian Board qualifications need not submit the equivalence certificate.  For details please visit website http://www.aiu.ac.in/Evaluation/evaluation.asp

  • Performing various restorations on the phantom head and also on patients.
  • Workshops and seminars.
  • Formative and summative assessments are carried out.
  • At the end of year II, pre-clinical exercises on the phantom head using typhodont teeth and viva voce.
  • At the end of year IV part II, theory exams include essay type and MCQs. Practical exams include clinical case study, restorations on patients and viva voce.
  • Formative assessments in the form of end posting exam at the end of every clinical posting.



The internal assessment examinations are held three times in a particular academic year.


The scheme of examination for BDS course is divided into first BDS examination at the end of the first academic year, Second BDS examination at the end of the second year, third BDS examination at the end of the third year and final BDS examination at the end of the fourth year.
